Content that ranks in days, not months

With a small content team competing in three markets, a Canadian cloud service provider needed every piece to rank fast. The fastest reached #1 on Google 7 days after publishing (“accelerated backup and recovery”, Canada). 5 of 7 tracked pieces reached #1 in 34 days or less, and Australian share of voice rose from 2% to 15%.

What was the challenge?

The client competed in Canada, Australia and the US with a small content team, so every piece had to earn rankings quickly and keep them.

What did I do?

  1. Mapped each piece to one keyword cluster and one buyer question before writing.
  2. Published or refreshed, then tracked the target term daily in each market.
  3. Measured the days from publish or refresh to #1 for every piece.

What should you know before reading too much into it?

  • Share of voice here is the client's visibility divided by the combined visibility of tracked competitors.

Who did this work?

I did this work in-house as the lead for AI search visibility and organic growth at a Canadian cloud service provider, 2024 to 2026. The client isn’t named. Numbers come from Google Analytics 4 and Semrush, with client details blurred in the screenshots. Download the slide deck (PowerPoint) for the charts.
